Lycian Inscriptions of Karmylassos

Inscription TL 6

It is a Lycian – Greek bilingual inscription carved above the door of a Lycian rock-cut tomb on the northern slope of the abandoned village of Levissi (Kayaköy).

Transliteration (Christiansen, 2020):
1 ebẽñnẽ ñtatã m=ene prñnawãtẹ̃ pulenjda mullijeseh se dapara pulenjdah puri-
2 himetehe prṇ̃nezijehi hrppi lada epttehe se tideime se=ije ti=seri ta-
3 di tiḳe ñtat[a] ebehi me=ije ṭụḅẹịṭi punamaθθi: aladahali: ada: ∠

Translation (Christiansen, 2020):
This burial chamber have built Pulenjda, (the child) of Mullijese, and Dapara, (the child) of Pulenjda, the household members of Purihimeti, for their wifes and the children. Who places anybody eseri in this burial chamber – they should destroy everything belonging to him. For the allocation(?) ∠ ada.
(Translation of the Greek inscription: )This tomb has made Apollonides, (the child of) Mollisis, and Laparas, (the child of) Appollonides, the household members of Purimatis, for their wifes [a]nd their children. Whoever harms that tomb – elimination and extinction of everything belonging to him may be!

Inscription TL 7

The inscription is carved above the door of the middle one of the three rock-cut tombs at Gökçeburun district north of Levissi (Kayaköy).

Transliteration (Melchert, 2001):
1 ebẽñnẽ: xupã: m=ene=prñnawatẽ
2 trijẽ[tezi]: s=ene=pijet[ẽ]
3 ladi: eh[b]i se=tideime

Translation:
Trijẽtezi has built this tomb and given it to his wife and children.

Inscription TL 8

The inscription is carved above the door of the rightmost one of the three rock-cut tombs at Gökçeburun district north of Levissi (Kayaköy).

Transliteration (Melchert, 2001):
1 ebẽñnẽ: xupã m=ene=prñnawatẽ
2 trijẽtezi: s=ene=pijetẽ
3 nẽne: ehbije: se=tuhe

Translation:
Trijẽtezi has built this tomb and given it to his brothers and nephews/nieces.
