Lycian Inscriptions of Rhodiapolis

Inscription TL 149

It is on a rock-cut tomb in the southern necropolis. The inscription starts with 5 lines on the left side of the tomb entrance and continues on the right side with 13 lines.

Translation (Christiansen, 2020):
This building has built Ijamara, the son of Terssixle, the priest of the animal sacrifice for Malija of Rhodiapolis(?). And the household and the city (regularly) give (the amount of) ada (as agreed upon). And they do not (regularly) give for/to/in this district(?) access(?). And they shall not place anyone on top of him, (namely) on Ijamara or his wife. Should anyone place anyone else on to[p of him] by (means of) harm(?), a house[hold member or] anyone of another (household) – (on him will be) the wrath of the ãnabahe and […] of Rhodiapolis(?) .. […]. As a fine(?) on the whole(?) 10(?) cow(s) and […] sheep. And the Lycian oath gods will destroy him […] and the itlehi(?) of the totality(?). And the [household] and the city shall sacrifice every year to Malija of Rhodiapolis(?) fo[r] (the benefit of) […]. And I made for/to her/him/therein, (namely) for/to ijas(?) this temenos(?) and I gave x[ … ] for/to the four(?) miñt(i)– . And they maza(i)– for themselves the district(?).. x .. to place anyone else on top the place [a]nd here […] every year in this sacred(?) district(?) (the(?)/a(?)) hrppe– (?) […] and I gave meipẽme to sacrifice xxx[.] for/to them.

It is on a rock-cut tomb in the northern necropolis.

Translation (based on Bryce, 1986):
Here lies Xssẽñzija, child of Xñtlapa, household member of Mutle, who built the chamber for himself. They will not place anyone else on top. If one places on top, Malija of the region and all the Lycian itlehi (gods or officials) will smite him. It behoves the relatives of Xssẽñzija make annual offering of grain(?).
