Sebeda – Bayındır Bay (Limanağzı)

Located about 3 km south of Antiphellos (modern Kaş), Sebeda is thought to be situated at what is today Bayındır Bay, also known as Limanağzı. The fortress was built on a steep rocky hill behind a cove that opens northward.
Although no inscription has been found to confirm the ancient name of the city, it is believed to be the same as Sebeda (or Sevedo), which is mentioned in later sources. The acropolis walls are dated to the Dynastic period, while the outer fortifications exhibit features of the Hellenistic period. From the Hellenistic period onward, Sebeda is thought to have been under the control of Phellos.
On the plateau behind the castle, several number of sarcophagi can be found, and on the seaward-facing cliffs, there are a few rock-cut tombs, one of which bears a Lycian inscription (TL 61).
